26.01.09 - Steele & Sears duo WIN enduro at the Taupo A1GP!
Rob Steele and Auckland businessman Logan Sears inlisted the help of Hire a Hubby for the inorgual A1GP round of the Batterytown GT3 Porsche Championship. The pair contested four races at the meeting, with a sprint race and a 50 minute enduro each day.
Sears, back in a racecar after 10 years quickly adapted to the GT3 finishing 4th (996) in Saturdays sprint race, followed by a 2nd with both Sears and Steele at the helm in the enduro.
In Sundays racing Steele started extreemly strong in the sprint race, picking up 4 positions by turn 1 and another before the end of lap 1 finishing 1st and 6th overall.
In the final enduro of the weekend Steele started the race. An incident on lap one involving the Martin/Kirkpatrick partnership meant Steele/Sears could cruise it home for 1st place, and the round win.
